I am licensed in Texas with seven years of professional work experience. I have a background in education as well. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, career difficulties, & grief. I believe that you are the expert on your story and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming negative thoughts and challenging situations.

My passion for counseling was rooted in my experience with at risk youth from my childhood to my career in education. I saw the importance of being seen and heard and addressing the individual's needs to attain success versus expecting rote societal compliance. Transitioning to being a therapist from a school based educator was a direct response to understanding that we must first address our lived experience and individual needs to see how that informs our present circumstances and future goals; so that we can achieve our goals while also having autonomy regarding the pathway we choose to get there.

My focus becomes to assist clients to break repeated patterns that cause feelings of anxiety, anger, and depression. My goal is provide my client with three personal growth dynamics from counseling: (1) Enlightenment; (2) Encouragement; and (3) Empowerment.

I have specialized experience working with clients facing issues including depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, career issues and also individuals who have experienced trauma such as abuse and neglect. I am passionate about assisting individuals in breaking free from the effects of toxic family/relational environments and/or traumatic experiences. I also enjoy coaching clients in achieving the goals they have set for themselves. Christian counseling is availble for those who choose to incorporate spritual beliefs in their therapeutic process.
