I specialize in Equine Therapy as well as traditional office psychotherapy. I take a mindfulness approach to "holding space" for my clients. I also recently completed an externship and Core Skills in Emotion Focused Therapy which allows me to do some pretty tough work with couples seeking joint therapy. I am also undergoing supervision for Trauma Focused CBT.

I have experience in helping clients with depression, anxiety, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming issues that challenge you. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions-Focused approaches to help my clients work their way out of what is distressing them.

I work with children, teens, adults, and couples. I understand life challenges are different for everyone because we all experience events and phases of life differently. Adjusting to changes in life and relationships or coming to terms with your past can be overwhelming. Empowering you is the most important part of counseling. My goal is to be a team with you if you are looking for growth, change, and a new way of perceiving and receiving life. It takes courage to come to therapy and open up to change whether it be as an individual, couple or a family.

My goal is to do therapy differently when possible, whether that means going outdoors and taking a walk or meeting from the comfort of your own home via secured telehealth. Marisa values compassion and connection in the counseling office. Marisa aims to help those that sit with her to answer the questions that led them to counseling, as well as experience the change and healing they've been searching for. She believes that each person is created for healthy relationship and prioritizes working to build such with those in her office. She especially enjoys working with young women (ages 16-35) who are struggling with family of origin issues, stressful life transitions, co-dependency, trauma, and more.

Brad has worked with individuals and couples for over 25 years. He holds a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MaMFT) from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Brad is founder and director of Fresh Roots Counseling and is a licensed professional counselor (LPC). He has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples counseling and specializes in working with affairs and step-families Brad is married to Beth and together they are raising three daughters.

I believe there is hope in all circumstances and healing to be found.
