The saying, "It is the relationship that heals," guides my work with clients. I aim to be the skilled confidant that accompanies them as they gain insight into their situation and who they are as an individual. Growing in self understanding helps them make decisions they can incorporate in their life and make their own. Their "new normal" becomes a way of life as they grow to employ the new tools they've gained in therapy. My ideal clients do not want psychological platitudes in the form of advice but want to be stretched and challenged.

I come to the counseling room as a fellow traveller with a strong desire to create emotional and spiritual safety, regardless of what must be faced. Much of my experience has been focused on helping men find hope and a voice amid brokenness, loneliness, and relational trouble. I meet with individuals wrestling with anxiety, depression, past or present abuse, sexual confusion, sexual addiction, and spiritual and emotional health in general. Real relief and real growth are really possible!

Life can feel overwhelming, painful experiences, trauma, anxiety, can alter life. It can lead us to shy away from vulnerability. We may boast about our independence & feel obligated to be everyone's 'person'. We often set high expectations. We decide we have to be the strong one, reliable one, the one to 'fix it.' Aiming for a perfection that doesn't exist. All while silently struggling, feeling alone and exhausted. Fighting for control, the ability to predict all while feeling nothing is predictable.

Maybe you are about to get married. Maybe you are in a relationship and haven't yet considered marriage. Maybe you've been married for 5, 13, even 35 years. Every relationship at some point experiences hardship and difficulty. It takes a lot of effort and energy to make a relationship succeed and stay close connected and intimate. Sometimes, it can be very difficult to find the energy, the will, or the motivation to truly give your heart to your partner. Whenever there is brokenness, my goal is to take those broken parts and bring them back together to make a whole relationship again.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and relationships like a constant struggle. We have a knowledge that it wasn’t meant to be this way and feel compelled to take the first steps toward wholeness but sometimes don’t know where to begin. Through compassion and empathy, I partner with clients to begin their healing journey. I seek first to understand their story, providing a safe and secure place to process the pain. It is my core belief that no problem is too messy and no challenging situation is without hope.

I am a small-town girl; I grew up in Willard, graduated from Willard, and have returned. While driving home for Christmas in 2015, I realized Willard needed a counseling center--and I have officially taken the leap! My hope is this can help Willard and the smaller surrounding towns not have to drive all the way to Springfield.
