I always tailor my therapeutic approaches to whatever my clients interests are. So, if you hate writing, let's not journal! After having worked as a school counselor at the grade school level for nine years, and at the high school level for fifteen, I transitioned to working with adults in a clinical setting, twelve years ago. I have experience in meeting with people to work through relationship issues, process emotions, and learn new tools for dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress.

I enjoy helping clients overcome the issues in their lives, whether it is anxiety, depression, or things from their past. I also enjoy helping parents become better parents. I work with children, teens, and adults. I work with clients one-on-one, in a family setting or with married couples.

When choosing a therapist it is important to consider many different perspectives. First and most importantly, is this someone that you will be comfortable working with? Education and experience are other considerations? However, when it comes right down to it, it's about connecting. All the great tools that a therapist may have will be useless if you do not connect with them. I have heard from many of my clients about negative experiences in the past with therapists and how they feel like nothing really happened.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, esteemed author, speaker, and founder of Get to the Root Counseling, P. C. Her passion for healing stems from her experiences, shaping her into a compassionate practitioner. Rachel graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2011. Before starting a private practice in 2018, she was employed as a school social worker and mental health counselor.

I have over 9 years of experience providing clinical services to both adults and adolescents in residential, inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. I have experience treating eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, interpersonal/relationship issues, existential concerns/life transitions, as well as other concerns/issues.
