I infuse all sessions with the principles of mindfulness. I can help you organize your thoughts on difficult decisions, coach you to be more assertive, and help you establish better boundaries. I will teach you a variety of coping skills for managing stress.

With warmth and respect, I work with women dealing with self-esteem/identity, relationships, life/career transitions, parenting, and more. My approach is positive, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I firmly believe that in every person and situation, there is hope. TELETHERAPY is here! We offer hope, education and treatment to people in all phases of decision making around substance use or other problematic behaviors. Education on reducing anxiety, stress and building confidence and harmony. Services include: substance abuse/recovery groups & Individual sessions to adults & teens; 36-week Domestic Violence court approved program; Anger Management Program (heavily based in mindfulness/Buddhist concepts of letting go and Acceptance Commitment Therapy). We also provide court ordered anger mngmnt, domestic violence and substance use disorder evaluations. We are an IDSP Provider for DWI aftercare.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, and drug and alcohol counselor I have 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families and children who are trying to improve their lives but sometimes just feel stuck in the process. I have also worked with those suffering from the pain of substance use disorders. Life is like a river that simply wants to move through us. At times, the river may damn up or take an unexpected turn. Therapy can be a resource that reestablishes the "flow" of life and returns us to our true course.

My Philosophy in treatment is that each of us, myself included, endures pain and suffering caused from difficult life circumstances and from broken relationships. Each individual also possess within him or herself the gifts and strengths which build resiliency that helps overcome these obstacles in life's journeys. The counseling process is helping the client draw out these gifts and strengths and learn to develop them. I am committed to offering the same type of compassion to my clients that I would want extended to me or my family.

I find that unmanaged stress is the root cause of many mental health disorders. My work with clients includes helping them to identify triggers, understand their stress and find ways to balance the mind, body and spirit by building a daily self-care practice that includes mental, physical, emotional and spiritual practices. I use a variety of techniques depending on the age and needs of my client. I work primarily with teens, young adults, and adult women. At this time I am not taking new clients for individual therapy, but I do have availability in most classes and groups.
