I believe that all people are wired for connection. We want to be at peace with ourselves, and we want to feel secure in our relationships. However, life experiences, and how we make sense of them, often get in our way. My work as a counselor is to help clients of all ages see themselves and their world more clearly, by cutting through the negative messaging and reconnecting with their wise self. This is done with an attitude of compassionate, even playful, curiosity, recognizing we are all figuring it out as we go.
I have extensive experience working with folks with a wide variety of experiences and symptoms. I'm particularly skilled in treating: Relationship issues, Anxiety and Depression, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, LGBTQI issues, Life transitions, Trauma and PTSD, and Attachment issues. I am trained in EMDR, IFS, ERP, and Hypnotherapy, among others.
I employ an eclectic, dynamic approach to therapy, ensuring that the needs of the client dictate how our time together is spent. My work is heavily influenced by the following theoretical approaches: Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, Mindfulness, and Existential Theory.
