Chris Paton
Counselor, MA, LMHC, MHP, GHMS
I work with individuals to help manage depression, anxiety, relationship issues, developmental issues, and transitions. I am a passionate advocate for LGBTQIA individuals and particularly enjoy working with this community. Our work together can cover a variety of topics such as coming out, relationship issues, self-acceptance, or even how your family of origin dynamics might change. I am also a Geriatric Mental Health Specialist (GMHS). I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation.
My theoretical approach is heavily influenced by both relational psychodynamics and person centered therapy. However, I have been trained in various theories and our work together will utilize the most appropriate approach for your specific situation. I have received broad clinical training that includes marriage and family therapy, adolescent therapy, and trauma counseling.
I have an MA in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle and a BS in Psychology from Oregon State University. I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the Washington Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Seattle Counselors Association.
