My initial training as a therapist was in premarital and marriage counseling, a vital part of my practice that I continue to enjoy to this day. I have approximately 20 years of experience and am licensed as a counselor and supervisor of interns. In addition to counseling couples and trauma survivors, I also work with persons coming out of the sex industry. I have experience working with major depressive disorders, bipolar I & II, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, and personality disorders. I am well-versed and extremely comfortable working with people of different cultures.
I utilize a trauma-informed, person-centered, psychodynamic approach in therapy and often incorporate CBT, DBT and mindfulness techniques. I am a certified revisioning practitioner, a technique that simulates re-attachment for grief resolution and ego-integration.
My certification through the FBI National Academy in resiliency allows me to train local police departments throughout the Metroplex in critical incident and mental health orientation trainings.
