I provide psychotherapy services to both individuals and couples for a variety of reasons. I have assisted clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress or need help with anger management, assertiveness, marital discord or maybe need coaching for personal growth and development. I use an integrated practice style that is both strength-based and goal-oriented. Depending on what you want to work on, I may utilize various evidence-based approaches based upon the presenting problem. As long as goals are safe and ethical, my goal is to help you achieve yours in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment.

I attended Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. I received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a Master's in School Psychology, with a minor in Special Education. I have worked 13 years in Law Enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff/Correctional Officer, Prison Guard, Adult Probation officer, and Texas Youth Commission Parole Officer. I have over 24 years in education, 16 of which as a school counselor. Integrates Enneagram practices into therapeutic planning. I specialize in working with marriages in crisis, relationship issues, grief, and oppositional defiant behavior.

My passion is helping people be the best that they can be whether it is individually or with their family. Being neurodivergent myself, I understand the challenges this presents in daily life. I have spent over 24 years helping children through adults as well as families navigate the challenges. My experience working on Fort Cavazos as well as near other military installations the entire time has given me a unique perspective of the challenges both civilians and military personnel face in the community.

I am a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) mental health and rehabilitative therapist offering individual, family, and couples counseling with culturally competent care. I have experience working with adolescents and adults whom have tried all they know to improve mood and decrease maladaptive behaviors. Mental health clinicians, who must be educated with masters degrees and above, do not have enough employment options that enable them to pursue private practice without having to endure the administrative nightmare that comes with it. Running a practice requires scheduling, billing and collections, marketing, websites, accounting, medical records requests, and much more. In addition, a clinician has to be mindful of HIPAA laws, ethical issues, legal issues, etc. And if they are enterprising enough to accept their client’s health insurance, there would be no time left to see actual clients. The public does not have enough affordable options for obtaining mental health services. There is a large gap between government sponsored community programs and increasingly expensive private programs that we wanted to bridge. So we decided to form a group of talented mental health clinicians and an experienced administrative staff to support them. Now the clinicians can focus on what they do best, and we are able to offer quality services to our clients using their insurance benefits!
