Through the therapeutic process a person may come to appreciate the uniqueness of their own personal qualities and discover new ways to develop a better understanding of the self and cope with life through profound change. I see each individual through their personal progress in hope of providing them with the necessary tools to work through their therapeutic goals. As an EMDR trained therapist, the individual can benefit by overcoming past traumas (PTSD).
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Research shows that by using EMDR, individuals can experience the benefits of working through psychological issues in a shorter specific time frame.
I have worked closely with patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and PTSD. I believe in empowering the individual by, helping them increase their self-esteem, setting healthy boundaries, as well as learning to regulate their emotions in a positive manner.
