Sandhya Sharma is a South Asian Indian LPC and certified addictions specialist who works with: Adults, Teens, LGBTQ community, and International Communities. My name is Martha Gizachew, and I was born and raised in Ethiopia before moving to the United States at an early age. My upbringing and experiences called me to counseling, and I provide services in the state of Virginia in my development as a counselor with Virginia State University. My decision to practice in psychology was driven by first and secondhand experiences of discrimination, colorism, and other mistreatments of vulnerable populations. Dr. Nisco received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in consortium with Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and obtained his Masters in Clinical Psychology and Bachelors in Psychology from Loyola College. He has trained at Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville, MD, Patuxent Institution minimal security prison in Sykesville, MD, National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Menlo Park, CA, and Veterans Hospitals in Palo Alto, CA and Baltimore, MD. He has also been on staff at various community outpatient mental health centers.

I have been in the psychology/counseling field since 2002. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Commonwealth of Virginia, National Certified Counselor (NCC). As a former NCAA D1 athlete, I feel strongly that exercise is an important component to a healthy mind, body, and soul.
