My goal as a therapist is to engage authentically, share honestly, and think openly. I have been fortunate to work with people in end of life care, chronic illness, grief and loss, incarceration, addiction, autism, depression, anxiety, trauma, and have spent most of my career supporting youth and families through a variety of life stages and challenges. I provide opportunities for people to engage in experiences that will expand their understanding, explore their circumstances, and develop resources for their unique journey.

Choosing the right counselor can be very difficult. Feeling weighed down, frustrated, and not able to move past difficult memories can make a person feel chained to the past. It is important that your concerns are heard, validated, and that your pain is relieved by healing the wounds. Unlike talk therapy, memories can be resolved without talking about them. EMDR and IFS are two evidenced based ways to permanently heal people who have trauma. This is my specialty. In addition, I am offering EMDR intensive therapy for people who desire to resolve the past pain more quickly and effectively. This option is private pay, only.

Due to my own lived experiences, I strive to create an affirming space for those who are fat, queer, polyamorous/non-monogamous, in/visibly disabled, gender-expansive, and/or expectant parents. Together, we will 1) gain a deeper understanding of your relationships to Self and others, 2) deconstruct systems & expand your knowledge of your own privileged & marginalized positions, and 3) learn about your attachment style & family systems position. Additionally, creatives who wish to expand our process beyond discussion and into music, poetry, and other expressive arts will find that those mediums can be interwoven into our work.

Healing is often hard, but it can also be joyful and lead to a more fulfilling life and improved relationships. I would be honored to accompany you on your journey toward happiness, acceptance, greater intimacy, peace, and recovery. I will work closely with you to monitor how you are feeling and match your pace in a supportive, safe environment. I would like to assist you in understanding how you have learned to cope with various situations, and how these same coping skills may be getting in your way now. I work from the Person-Centered therapy approach to empower you to acquire a new layer of understanding of who and where you are.
