Providing education and facts surrounding sex, intimacy, and relationships is so important, especially when it was absent or shrouded in fear, shame, or mystery while growing up. Too many of us have received inaccurate or little information about sex and our bodies. I want to provide a space for you to explore and understand how sex and intimacy fit in with who you are now to promote safety, pleasure, and connection. I have specialized in the healing of trauma for the last 31 years through individual, group, couples work. My expertise is EMDR. After 18 years of using this tool I am still amazed at how profoundly and quickly clients heal from tremendous pain and struggles. EMDR is often considered to be used only and primarily for a discreet trauma like a car accident. In fact, however, EMDR is a tool that incorporates how the brain processes information every night during REM sleep. Since our brains have REM daily, EMDR is a magnificient way to address most of life's problems.

I have been in the counseling and psychiatric field for over 40 years and continue to help clients with issues ranging from individual , marital, or family issues to problems with stress, anxiety, and depression from biological or other causes . I also specialize in treating childhood abuse , ADD/HD , Dissociative Identity Disorder,and chemical dependency. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Clinical Hypnosis are among the approachs I incorporate.

I have always liked this quote: "People who need help sometimes look a lot like people who don't need help." I am drawn to this quote and to counseling because I am a person who has lived through a storm or two. And, although your storm and mine may not look the same, I believe we all have common needs: to heal from something in our past, to overcome stress, fear and anxiety that makes us feel powerless and hopeless, or to navigate through an important relationship that is difficult.

Life can present us with difficulties and events that challenge our well-being and impact our ability to manage our life circumstances.
