I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group settings. In my work with adolescents, I have provided care for children and teens who report issues regarding suicide, depression, anxiety, family concerns, and behavioral issues. I have training in art and play therapy and specialize in the unique needs that children and adolescents face. I utilize a strength-based approach with each individual to help them achieve their goals toward wellness. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor-supervisor in the state of Ohio and received her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary.

I will listen intently and conduct a detailed interview to determine if services are appropriate. If they are, then together we will set goals and develop a treatment plan.

In my 30 years of experience as a child and adult clinical psychologist, I have developed a diverse set of assessment and therapeutic skills, allowing me to provide optimal care to children, adults and families. I am a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and my specialties include helping families going through the difficulties of divorce, parent coordination, preserving a cooperative and collaborative environment to keep the children's best interests a priority, and conducting court-ordered custody evaluations. Attorneys and courts frequently request these services in order to help resolve child custody and parenting disputes.

I have been a practicing therapist for almost 30 years. Many have asked me how I do my job - "listening to people's problems all day". For me, it an honor and a privilege to help someone work through a troubling issue and find balance again in their life, providing support and compassion through the process. Tessa Basco earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Akron in 2015. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with 10 years of experience in the field. Tessa specializes in treating the lifespan and has experience with people of all ages; with a specific focus on treating adolescents and young adults.

We all go through difficult life experiences that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed with behavioral responses that are no longer serving us well. Finding meaning in difficult emotions and life events can be very helpful in moving forward. I feel passionate about providing a nonjudgemental space for clients to engage in self exploration while focusing on healing. I work with individuals, children, and families, bringing warmth and understanding to the relationships and life problems that surround us.

Lauren Kustec is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Lauren has experience working with individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds and of all ages. Lauren has provided treatment to individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and other mental health issues that impact daily living.
