Since I was first licensed in 1991, I have worked with a wide range of clients, in a variety of setting. My passion is helping people overcome trauma. I specialize in working with children who have experienced sexual abuse. I work with children as young as 3, through adulthood. I believe we all have the capacity to overcome and grow, given the opportunity and resources to do so.

I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2007. I work with children, adolescents and adults concerning a variety of issues. I assist clients with becoming empowered through education and skill building. I help clients focus on finding solutions through a variety of resources and skills. I use a combination of approaches including Mindfulness to help clients live more presently with awareness. Also other approaches I utilize help clients to learn to manage their emotions, and build better relationships to foster better outcomes in their lives.

Adele Gerke received both her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Master of Social Work Degree from Youngstown State University. Ms. Gerke provides mental health services with compassion, empathy, a nondirective approach and without judgement. Ms. Gerke is a firm believer in providing a nurturing environment where clients can discuss current issues and/or concerns. Ms. Gerke has the understanding of how the past, present and even the future can affect thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Collaborating on treatment and goals with the client is the first step to improving mental health.

Welcome! My goal as a therapist is to create a warm and authentic relationship with my clients. Life can be overwhelming and challenging; my goal is to support you and help you navigate through this time. My hope is to help individuals implement useful tools and skills to help them manage their anxiety and stress. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in the mental health field for over 12 years. Some of my experience includes working with anxiety, depression, foster care and adoption, motherhood, and ADHD.

I am an experienced Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who has worked with a wide variety of individuals and groups. My focus is to provide individual counseling for children, teens, and young adults with mental health disorders, trauma, addiction, and eating disorders. When working with a patient, I take a strengths-based approach with a Christian foundation while utilizing several modes of interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and positive psychology.
