I've had the sincere pleasure of being a therapist for 35 years. Having worked in a variety of settings has prepared me to be able to provide compassionate guidance to people wrestling with mood disorders (anxiety, depression and bi-polar) as well as to those experiencing struggles in their relationships (marital and family). For the past ten years in private practice, I have continued to assist others using a variety of therapeutic approaches: psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, relaxation and coping skills, grief therapy and assertiveness training.

Welcome! I'm Serena and I am a licensed independent social worker specializing in treatment of children and adolescents. I have a wide range of experience working with at risk youth in settings such as community mental health and inpatient psychiatric care. My goal in therapy is to be the person for clients that I was never able to have as a child. I utilize primarily DBT, CBT, and reality based therapeutic modalities to assist clients with emotion identification/regulation. I have experience working with complex trauma and understand the difficulties of all involved while trying to navigate trauma responses/behaviors.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor with board certification, and certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have four years of clinical experience helping children, teens, young adults, and adults cope with mental health and life stressors. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, trusting, and nurturing space, while meeting clients where they currently are with empathy and respect and working together to move towards your goals and establish resiliency throughout life.

My clients come to me because they are looking for ways to use their strengths to overcome the challenges that life has thrown at them, whether in their individual lives or in their relationships. I help them to deal with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addictions, life transitions, and relationship issues of all kinds. Ken Trivison earned his master's degree in educational psychology from John Carroll University and completed a two year post-graduate training program in systemic marriage and family therapy. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He has served as a Board member of AAMFT and is a past president of the Ohio Division of AAMFT.
