Kara Freeman is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English with a multi-cultural certificate from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then attended The Ohio State University where she received her Master of Arts in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Previously, Kara worked at Directions for Youth and Families as a community-based counselor working with children aged 5-17 and their families.

Examples may include problems with achieving early developmental milestones such as a child verbalizing his or her first words, difficulties with understanding and processing abstract information, or challenges with behavior and/or learning at school. My background is in education with a strong understanding of children and their development. I have 13 years of experience working with children and their families in community mental health settings, a domestic violence shelter, and currently in a private practice setting. Jason Stofel has been working in the field of social work in various settings since 1994. He began as a direct care staff serving youth involved in the juvenile court system in Delaware, Ohio as well as working with children and teens placed in out of home care at The United Methodist Children's Home. It was in these two settings that he learned the importance of building relationships, providing consistency and behavioral management. He then entered into doing Community Based counseling at Directions for Youth and Families, serving at risk youth and their loved ones.

I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2007. I work with children, adolescents and adults concerning a variety of issues. I assist clients with becoming empowered through education and skill building. I help clients focus on finding solutions through a variety of resources and skills. She is educated and clinically trained in both mental and physical aspects of behavioral health. She has a diverse background working with children and adults. Extensive experience working with Military Veteran’s and First Responder’s with trauma related disorders, MST and PTSD.
