Welcome! My goal as a therapist is to create a warm and authentic relationship with my clients. Life can be overwhelming and challenging; my goal is to support you and help you navigate through this time. My hope is to help individuals implement useful tools and skills to help them manage their anxiety and stress. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in the mental health field for over 12 years. Some of my experience includes working with anxiety, depression, foster care and adoption, motherhood, and ADHD.

Since I was first licensed in 1991, I have worked with a wide range of clients, in a variety of setting. My passion is helping people overcome trauma. I specialize in working with children who have experienced sexual abuse. I work with children as young as 3, through adulthood. I believe we all have the capacity to overcome and grow, given the opportunity and resources to do so.

My specialty is working with neurodivergent clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and/or clients that may process information or their emotions differently.

Sometimes we need a safe and comfortable environment to express our thoughts and feelings. I believe every client is unique and has different needs. I enjoy building a therapeutic relationship with my clients to learn what my clients want therapy to focus on. Erin Black (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed professional counselor who works with children, young adults, and families. Her specialty interests include: helping children and young adults navigate adjustments in their lives, trauma-informed care, and integrating creativity and positive psychology into counseling practice. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to each client.

Individual counseling provides an opportunity for you to talk openly about your thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment. I work with a variety of clients including children, adolescents, adults, and those within the LGBTQ community. With children and some adolescents, differing modalities of therapy, including art and music, provide an additional outlet for those who cannot always verbalize thoughts and feelings. Family dynamics can often be challenging, whether you have a traditional or non-traditional family, and I can help. Together, we can work through your concerns.
