Hi there, my name is Dr. Smith and I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in Ohio, Texas, and Kansas. I have nearly two decades of experience working with various populations and age groups. I joined WellQor in May 2019 as a lead psychologist, and I’m now a Clinical Director overseeing a large team of mental health professionals. My team is responsible for the evaluation, care planning, and treatment of adults with mental health issues ranging from mild depression and anxiety to more serious diagnoses.

My role is to walk beside my clients as they find their own solutions. I bring a background from journalism, theater, film, event production, dj, and comedy writing to my practice. Clients can expect to be heard and encouraged with genuine empathy and faith in improving life experiences. The modalities I use most are positive psychology , cognitive behavioral, client centered, gestalt, Parent Child Interactive, and trauma informed. I have more than 20 years experience in relationship counseling, men's issues and family counseling. Electronic media and video game abuse have become important counseling topics that I treat. I help men with life transitions and work issues, partners navigate relationship issues and families resolve conflict. I help with difficult children & adolescents and wrote "How to Change Your Child's Behavior". It highlights principles of good parenting, why children get out of control, and how to establish rules. My protocol is used by schools, child welfare agencies, and juvenile justice systems. I also specialize in treating ADHD.

Dan offers more than 15 years of clinical experience in both public and private sectors, specializing in working with adolescents and adult males. Dan incorporates Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist adolescents in healing and restoration from all types of trauma, abuse and neglect.

I use a multifaceted approach to treat anxiety (ODC, GAD, phobia), depression, trauma, and relationship issues. All treatment plans are unique to each person’s personal needs and preferences. My toolbox includes (but not limited to) a systemic perspective with IFS-informed interventions, EMDR, KAP, CBT or TF-CBT, DBT, meditation/mindfulness, BSFT, Person-Centered Therapy, and a genuine warm curiosity.
