As owner of Searchlight Family Therapy, I seek to offer our clients a full range of family therapy services in a place that feels welcoming and safe.  Whether you're new to therapy or are searching for the right fit, I hope we can provide you a supportive environment that challenges you and helps you grow. ​

My clients feel validated, respected, and understood when they leave session. I believe every person has a right to determine how they want their life to look. My approach to therapy combines CBT/DBT concepts while considering all bio-psycho-social aspects of your life. -Note that therapists are notoriously difficult to get on the phone (we're usually in session). Email or text provides a more efficient way to access my practice.

I enjoy helping clients build skills to succeed in life whether they are dealing with life stresses or serious mental health issues. I believe in using an integrated approach tailored to my client's needs. I work with adults, families, children aged 6 and up and teens. I also enjoy working with groups.

Katherine “Katie” Kirkholder (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced clinical intern with CT status who works with adults, adolescents, and children. She is studying to become a licensed professional counselor and art therapist. Her specialty interests include: mood and personality disorders, depression, anxiety, coping skills, trauma, self-harm, girls’ and women’s issues, and overall health and wellness. She utilizes treatment approaches that are uniquely tailored to each client.

Hi there dad's & moms, my name is Julie! I know that things feel difficult right now or you wouldn't be seeking help for your kiddo. I want you to know this is the biggest step! If your child is struggling with issues such as ADHD, anxiety, depression or life itself, I want to help! Empowerment is the foundation of my treatment approach. I can help your child create goals that will allow them to find success in their lives. I know things feel overwhelming right now, but let me help. I use expressive art, play, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy & Mindfulness as treatment approaches that will help your child heal.

I am very passionate about my work with my clients. I use a humanistic and attachment-based approach with a systemic lens. I use a trauma-informed approach. I strive to assist my clients with reaching their goals through supportive reflection, insight building and expressive techniques. My role as a therapist is to create a space where you are able to be authentically yourself. We are not simple and isolated beings. Lauren Kustec is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Lauren has experience working with individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds and of all ages. Lauren has provided treatment to individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and other mental health issues that impact daily living.
