I am eager to consult other disciplines, if necessary and will access any resources that my client needs. I respect every client that I work with and offer strategies, encouraging them to make their own decisions and trust in their own choices. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that focuses on various issues including Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Relationships, Self-esteem, Grief, and Bereavement. My sessions are client-centered and use various modalities including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.

For children, teens and young adults, I utilize play therapy, art therapy, and other age-appropriate interventions that allow them to express themselves freely, build resilience and emotional well-being. For perinatal individuals, I offer a safe and supportive environment to explore the complex emotions that can arise during this transformative period, while also providing practical tools for managing stress, enhancing self-care, and fostering healthy relationships.

She continued her training at Turtle Hook Middle School running weekly groups and meeting with students one on one to assist in any crisis or bullying issues. Melissa then continued her experience working at SCO Family Services. At SCO Melissa worked with youth in NYC foster care making sure the youth’s needs were being met in a timely and professional matter, as well as working with the school system, the court system.
