Together with my client we work as a team to achieve the therapeutic goals and make life worth living and enjoying. I have been working in mental health for over a decade and it is my greatest passion in life.

Wellness is key and in our conversations I explore your values during counseling therapy sessions. We do explore all aspects of life that are important including physical, mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual health. Typically our initial counseling sessions conversations are casual, it is a platform to ensure that I am the right fit for you.

I work with children, teens, and adults of all ages to identify areas of stress and assess for symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship conflict and more. Together we will develop treatment goals and a clear path for change.

As a licensed psychotherapist for more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of supporting people of all ages, as well as couples and families as they navigated through the challenges they faced. I truly love what I do, and I am passionate about helping people get through difficult times, helping them to be happier and more fulfilled in their lives and relationships. In order to help more people, I formed a group practice of compassionate therapists, each with their own unique style and set of skills, and a passion for helping others.

I believe in meeting my clients where they are at, whether seeking help for the first time or wanting a new approach. I am a warm and attuned therapist who will actively listen to fully understand each individual’s history, current stressors, and goals, to provide authentic feedback, guidance, and tools to change unhealthy behaviors. My approach is strength-based, collaborative and is shaped to meet the needs of each client. I also hold a certificate in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Counseling (OCDCC).

I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who struggle with ADHD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, grief, relationship complications, and LGBTQ issues. Working with adolescents and young adults has always been my passion. As a former school counselor, I use my knowledge of the school system in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy to guide teens throughout their educational experience. With specializations in ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and LGBTQ, I work closely with each individual client to determine goals and create a realistic long-term plan.

I am a firm believer that everyone can benefit from therapy. My primary goal is to make each of my client’s therapeutic experiences as comfortable and safe as possible. Using a client-centered approach, I work with my clients to develop positive coping skills in order to tackle life’s stressors. Dr. Michele Winchester-Vega and Associates is a group private practice with over 10 LICENSED professionals that specialize in a variety of modalities and treatment specialties. Treatment is offered to those aged 6 and above and individual, family and group modalities are available. We are involved in teaching and hold faculty positions as well as providing consultation/ supervision to other professionals.

I have an individualized and unique approach working with children, young adults and elderly patients providing individual and family psychotherapy in the office setting. I provide mostly cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, family and psychodynamic therapies, while when I perform biopsychosocial assessment, I coordinate ongoing treatment with the psychiatrist and other specialists in order treat a patient on individual basis considering all the specific details related to his medical issues and social environment.
