I provide individual therapy to clients of all ages well as comprehensive psychological evaluations. The Integrative Therapy Institute of New Jersey (ITI-NJ) is a group practice in clinical and counseling psychology that provides psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, and families. ITI-NJ operates at a number of locations throughout the state of NJ and the great majority of our therapists are in-network with all major insurance plans.

I am a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York and a certified school psychologist in New Jersey. I am dedicated to assisting the individuals and families that I work with in identifying their specific hurdles and goals and developing personalized, effective strategies to cope with their challenges, uncovering their unique strengths, and helping them navigate their pathway towards achieving impactful change.

I am a cognitive therapist, trained at the Beck Institute of Cognitive Therapy, with over 25 years of experience in individual and group therapy and clinical supervision. I am effective in engaging individuals, adolescents and couples in learning skills to: strengthen overall coping abilities, improve relationships, achieve valued life goals, and become their own therapists. Clients that I work with praise not only my skills and competence but also my warmth and wisdom.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work. My experience includes working as a clinician and clinical supervisor in mental health, hospital, and school settings. I have also been in private practice for over fifteen years, where I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I am flexible in my approach in order to best help you build on your strengths and reach your desired goals.

Despite having reached the pinnacle of my profession after nearly two decades of practice, it was my own struggle with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis and other medical conditions and issues, that changed my perspective and my life. I came to appreciate an approach which focuses on the here and now; solution focused and goal oriented. I found little solace in traditional therapeutic approaches which focused largely on the past, and went on for months with no real relief nor positive impact on my life or functioning. As such, I strive to help my clients achieve their goals and actualize their dreams using a coaching approach.

I utilize a holistic approach in working with clients, which encompasses components of cognitive behavior theory, trauma-informed interventions, positive behavioral supports and solution-focused methods. I believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship and strive to provide a safe environment for clients to feel validated, understood, and more capable of moving forward through life’s challenges. I am a psychologist in practice for 30 years.I have a diverse clinical practice working with adults, adolescents, couples and families.I am an experienced psychotherapist with expertise in psychodynamic, cognitive, gestalt, existential approaches. This allows me to tailor my counseling to the specific needs of each person. I was trained to treat TMS by world renowned Dr. John Sarno and Dr. Arlene Feinblatt at NYU Medical Center/The Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. I counsel people with anxiety, psychophysical pain/TMS, depression, stress and trauma. I help with discovering or re-discovering their inner needs and with bringing those needs to fruition.

I have a diverse practice in which I work with adults, children, adolescents and couples who are struggling with a variety of different issues. These include depression, anxiety/panic attacks, relationship problems, school and behavioral issues, parenting challenges, ADHD, low self-esteem, stress, sexual orientation and gender identity concerns, struggles with spirituality, self-injurious behavior, adoption, dealing with medical problems, grief and loss, trauma, and coping with divorce and its aftermath. My ideal client is one who wants help and is feeling ready to do the work necessary to improve and enrich his or her life.

I take the mystery out of therapy by working collaboratively with you. My role then tends to be like a coach or instructor. We set goals together. I do not make decisions for my clients. Rather we look for patterns in thinking, actions, and relationships that cause problems. We examine the positive and negative outcomes that cause people to get stuck in negative emotions. While we look to the past to learn how patterns are shaped, this treatment is present and future focused. It is more important to build on your strengths than to dwell on weaknesses.
