I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Based-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TB-CBT) to counsel children/adolescents adults, families, and couples working with diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, stress, trauma/abuse (physical and sexual), domestic violence, grief /loss, relationship difficulties, and parenting/family concerns. I provide parenting training, mental health and substance abuse treatment. I utilize an integrative clinical approach to counseling and employ various therapeutic methods which I have been trained on. Depending upon what will be most helpful for you on a individual basis, my approach draws upon the principles of Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as several other therapeutic methods.

A lot of families fell apart because of fear, stress, and feelings of uncertainty. We all deserve some support and help through these difficult times. Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities were confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

Families are a good source of strength but they can also get stuck in unproductive patterns of behavior and interaction which are challenging to change. I help families break these difficult cycles by working with them to identify goals and establish plans and milestones to achieve them. I apply over 25 years of experience as I empower struggling individuals, couples, and families facing marital issues, divorce, anxiety, depression, and children/adolescents with self-destructive behaviors or ADD/ADHD as well as many other mental health issues. I also specialize in working with diagnoses of oppositional defiant and conduct disorders.

My passion and goal as a therapist stems from guiding those to become the best version of themselves through insight, clarity, empowerment and compassion. She graduated from William Paterson University with her BA in Psychology and Business Administration and then studied at Seton Hall University to pursue her Master’s in Social Work. Kaitlynn has experience working with people of all ages, early childhood, adolescents, and adults. Kaitlynn has experience in Substance Abuse Counseling, Behavioral Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, and helping those suffering from Co-Occurring Disorders.
