I am a Licensed Psychotherapist with a focus on working therapeutically with my patients to meet goals and overcome emotional struggles and interpersonal challenges. I treat chronic pain using Dr. John Sarno's work on Tension Myoneural Syndrome. TMS is due to unconscious repressed rage and conflicts developed during childhood. I deeply respect the human ability to surpass anger and strive to live life in a fuller capacity. I was trained under Dr. Arlene Feinblatt who had been the primary psychologist for Dr. Sarno since 1973 to do TMS treatment. I work alongside with a TMS physician, Dr. Paul Gwozdz at the Family Practice in Somerset, New Jersey. Together we help patients cope with chronic pain following Dr. Sarno's techniques.

In all his work, Chris always looks towards your empowerment and in that provides guidance and helps you to truly recognize your strengths and how to build upon them. Most every appointment is available and is as effective by phone or video chat (Zoom or FaceTime), and can further be more expeditiously scheduled these ways. Guidance, support, and objectivity are key elements in any service provided along with the addition of any tools and action plans as appropriate that have you manifest more of what you want being an active agent of your own change. In a safe and non-judgemental environment I use art therapy for reflection and insight, to build upon strengths and coping, and to gain understanding into feelings and behaviors. Working together I use art therapy in counseling with those who are seeking to resolve conflicts, healing from loss, trauma and personal growth. I have practiced art therapy in Monmouth and Ocean Counties since 1993 serving groups and individuals dealing with loss, life challenges and transitions, illness and trauma.

The Women's Psychotherapy Center, founded by Lauren Gerardi, PhD, is a private psychotherapy practice focused on the issues most important to women's mental and emotional health. We specialize in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, parenting issues, and trauma/PTSD. In addition, we work with women struggling with general depression, anxiety, Autism spectrum disorders, and chronic pain as well as other mind-body disorders. While we are a women's center, we welcome individuals of all ages and genders and work not only with women, but with their family members as well in their own individual therapy.

I have over 7 years of experience in talk therapy working with individuals, couples, and families in partial care programs, intensive outpatient, and outpatient agency settings. In my last role at Center for Children's Behavioral health I served as program director while maintaining a client caseload. My clinical approach is integrated and incorporates a variety of different theoretical orientations including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and more.

Lighthouse Counseling & Sand Play Training Center, LLC was conceived in 2000 in a tiny office in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey by Gretchen Morgan and Mary Pat McGeehin. Their search for effective treatment led them to include the use of Sand Play Therapy, EMDR, yoga and therapeutic group work with their clients. This was in response to the expanding body of research which illustrated that the mind-body connection was integral to the healing of mental health issues. In 2004, they expanded their practice to include like-minded affiliate clinicians and moved to a larger facility in Eatontown, New Jersey.
