Lighthouse Counseling & Sand Play Training Center, LLC was conceived in 2000 in a tiny office in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey by Gretchen Morgan and Mary Pat McGeehin. Their search for effective treatment led them to include the use of Sand Play Therapy, EMDR, yoga and therapeutic group work with their clients. This was in response to the expanding body of research which illustrated that the mind-body connection was integral to the healing of mental health issues. In 2004, they expanded their practice to include like-minded affiliate clinicians and moved to a larger facility in Eatontown, New Jersey.

Lisa received her Master’s in Counseling at Montclair University. She’s worked in various positions in the field utilizing her counseling skills and innate problem solving abilities as a Guidance Counselor, a Crisis Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, and an In home counselor for the last 15 years where she has molded and guided at risk youth in crisis. Lisa holds certifications in: Eye Movement and Densitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy (Ct.H), National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), Mind/Body Personal Trainer, Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, and CANS certified SNA (NA/BPS).

JFCS works with clients from a variety of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Psychodrama New Jersey is a multi-practitioner office. I have over 7 years of experience in talk therapy working with individuals, couples, and families in partial care programs, intensive outpatient, and outpatient agency settings. In my last role at Center for Children's Behavioral health I served as program director while maintaining a client caseload. My clinical approach is integrated and incorporates a variety of different theoretical orientations including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and more.
