Eiko helps people heal through the ecology of embodiment during life activities you want to feel liberated or at ease while doing. Eiko integrates a healing justice lens to help people navigate colonialism, racial identities, gender, sexuality, stress reduction, sensory needs, nervous system shifts, relationships, and connecting with ecosystems. My approach is holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed, and based in talk-therapy. I work with adults, children/teens and families with a range of mental health issues, with a special interest in working with those who suffer from chronic and complex conditions, including PANS/PANDAS, Lyme disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). I also support families who are navigating their child’s diagnosis within the school setting, particularly with IEPs and 504 plans. With a deep appreciation for functional medicine, I believe that health is multifactorial, and aim to go beyond the diagnoses of her patients.

I am an experienced Licensed Psychologist with an extensive background providing counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. My primary specialities include depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, life transition, relationship issues, and grief and loss. My therapeutic approach is eclectic with a cognitive behavioral and DBT foundation. I am trained in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy which I use to address a multitude of mental health symptoms in addition to trauma. I continue to be privileged to work with people who seek to improve the quality of their life and find peace, confidence and strength within themselves.

We work with individuals of all ages with anxiety, mood and related issues across the lifespan. When working with younger children, we meet with parents without the child for the first evaluation session, and then meet with the child individually during the second evaluation session.Our center also routinely works with college-aged and young adult clients. Here, our therapists incorporate components of therapy geared specifically to this age group: identity development, fostering independence and autonomy, and helping clients navigate the challenges experienced during their transition into adulthood.

My work with clients is rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT is not for the faint-hearted! It is direct, evidence-based and it works. DBT has been proven useful in treating mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and for change in behavioral patterns such as self-harm, and substance abuse. At Minnetonka Counseling I lead adolescent and family DBT groups, adult DBT groups as well as advance DBT workshops for DBT graduates.

Jess Holly received her Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the U of M. Jess previously worked for a children’s community mental health agency in Minneapolis and surrounding areas where she provided in-home therapeutic support to children and their families facing serious and persistent mental and behavioral health challenges. Jess also has experience treating adults with anxiety and depression.
