I am a Cancer Counseling Specialist and have been providing cancer support and psycho-oncology consulting for 15+ years. The emotional and psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis is immense and the affects can linger for months or even years. I work with patients and their families through treatment, recovery and survivorship to reduce the distress that is inherent to the disease. Working to reduce the negative emotional impact of the disease on all areas of the patient's life has been associated with increased positive outcomes and reduced psychological recovery period.
