I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and their families. I am trained in TBRI, certified in TF-CBT, and experienced with foster care and adoption struggles. I also have a passion for working with military service members and their families. I work hard to meet people where they are, from ages 3-55. I utilized play therapy, talk therapy, art therapy, individual, family and couples therapy. I want to support you in the changes you want to make in your life and will work with you to move forward in meeting your goals.

I have experience in the areas of stress reduction/coping, post-partum depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. With children, I treat trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief, and behavioral disorders such as ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I have also worked with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) with children who have autism and are nonverbal.

Hi! I'm Misty! I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families! My typical client is between 3 and 26 years old and I use a variety of approaches to meet the needs of my clients. I am currently working on obtaining my registered play therapy (RPT) credential and utilize play, art, sandtray, and other expressive arts to make therapy fun for kids! I also will incorporate caregivers into the therapeutic process as needed so the healing can continue happening at home. For adolescents and young adults we can talk, or we can use some of the above techniques to help process. I also am experienced in EMDR and DBT modalities.

I'm adopted myself, a licensed foster parent, & work with trauma and attachment. I have a multi-cultural family & lived abroad (Africa).
