I am Emily J. Runyan, a practicing psychotherapist since 2007 and board-certified neurofeedback clinician since 2019. I have a broad background in the field of mental health – having experience in psychological testing and evaluations, individual therapy, and most recently extensive training and continuing education in neurofeedback. I work with children (generally 6 and up), teenagers and adults and continue to offer individual therapy services as well as neurofeedback services to individuals seeking positive change.

I strongly believe that therapy helps give every individual the power to own who they are, and who they want to be. No matter where you are in your walk of life I would love to be able to join you on your journey to healing. Life can bring a variety of situations that can often feel extremely overwhelming and defeating. Working towards healing from pain in the past, and finding one’s true authentic self is something that I strive to bring to all of my clients through my therapeutic process.

I earned both my Masters of Science in Art Therapy and in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University. I enjoy working with clients of all ages from diverse backgrounds, particularly supporting individuals to navigate the stresses of daily living. Additionally, I specialize in behavioral strategies to help parents support their children towards healthy growth. I utilize a solution-focused framework with an array of therapeutic approaches to best fit the needs of each client. I enjoy utilizing the creative process to help promote self-discovery, increase self-efficacy, and develop strategies to improve daily functioning.

My name is Ashley McKinney. I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas. My passions are Maternal Health & Wellness and Minority Mental Health. I have devoted over 5 years to the Mental Health Counseling field, working directly and indirectly with clients of different ages and backgrounds. I have helped to improve a variety of mental health issues, tailoring my approach to fit the unique and individual needs of each client.

Tasha Schrant is a certified school counselor and a licensed professional counselor under independent supervision as she pursues her clinical licensure from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Tasha graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Tasha proudly became a Wichita State University Alumni as she obtained her master’s degree in Education Counseling with a graduate certificate for School Counselor to Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

My primary clinical area of focus is working with clients who are part of the queer (LGBTQ+) community. As a member of the community myself, I strive to provide affirming, knowledgeable and person-centered care. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults alike and my clients have included those who are gender creative/gender diverse, transgender, non-binary, polyamorous/consensually non monogamous, as well as the HIV+ community.

What it implies, deals with teaching, learning, and social wisdom. We are all touched with struggles in our lives, some more difficult than others. However, through struggles we gain new skills that allow growth, and with that growth we experience healing. In my practice, I welcome individuals into a non-threatening and positive atmosphere, where growth and healing is possible.

Stress affects us all in different ways. Short term counseling with cognitive behavior therapy can many times lead to a reduction in problems. I evaluate persons to better identify issues such as children with ADHD, autism, or intellectual disabilities or adults with PTSD and emotional trauma are a focus of evaluation and treatment. I evaluate persons prior to bariatric surgery, for pre-employment and return to work issues, and several court related or forensic issues. I believe in trying differently, rather than harder. Parenting children who are neurodivergent (ADHD, FASD, Autism, Developmental Trauma) can be overwhelming, especially if a parent is too! Children can struggle with healthy attachment, viewing every person and situation through a "survival' lens of distrust, often engaging in undesirable behavior to try to establish feeling in control, safe, and connected. They may struggle with processing and verbalizing or emotional regulation. Parents may struggle with regulation and connection in the face of challenging behavior. We all do well when we have the necessary skills to do so!
