Dr. Stella Verna has a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in Professional Psychology, is licensed by the Department of Health – Mental Health-and Nationally Certified Psychologist, conducting counseling and psychotherapy in both English and Spanish. Dr. Verna is experienced in individual counseling, couples and marriage counseling, family counseling, and group psychotherapy. I view the role of the therapist as "helper" or "sidekick." While I will contribute my know-how, I am aware that my clients know the "what" and that we discover the "why" together in our sessions. In sessions, my objectives are your objectives. I think that perspective is vital to empowering you so that together we can accomplish the goals that caused you to seek counseling. I have over 15 years of clinical experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, college students, and adults. I am currently in my 3rd year of a doctoral program to receive my DSW in August 2024. My specialization is in helping people reach their "best selves" in developing improved daily living skills in order to push through any 'road blocks' in ones personal development. My training and experience started in 2004 at New York University's Masters Program and carried through to my many years of private practice in South Florida.
