I feel comfortable bringing my own life experiences into the counseling relationship. This helps me relate to my clients and connect genuinely. I do not see myself as an expert but as an objective helper who can reflect on what the client is going through, provide validation and understanding and then gently challenge clients to change patterns and make changes for progress. I enjoy being a partner with my clients to come up with strategies to manage the challenges they face. We all need a place to feel safe, listened to, and seen. I provide that space for clients and their families.

“The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.” I have worked as a clinical psychologist since 2011. Prior to this I received my master’s in clinical health psychology. I have had wonderful opportunities to work in numerous settings to help children and families. I have a vast amount of clinical experience with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. In addition to my clinical work, I conduct clinical training for other child therapists as well as serving as a consultant to early childhood providers.

I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in 2001, and I have been a practicing psychologist since that time. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of children, teens, and adults with varying life stressors and mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting concerns, or work/school stress.
