Following retirement from a twenty-six-year career in the military, I felt compelled to complete my degree in counseling as a way to give back to my community and support local military families. I work with children and adults. Specialties are Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma and PTSD. I use Christian and non-Christian therapy depending on the client's requests.

I have experience working with individuals and couples of any age, ethnicity, religion, and background. Whether it be anxiety, depression, marital struggles, personality disorders, stress management, everyday challenges, or anything in between, I am here to equip people with the necessary tools to achieve their goals.

I'm Kimberly Davis, LPC, NCC. I help adults and teens cope with the pressures and demands of daily life and relationships. I'm conveniently located on College Ave in Fayetteville. My psychotherapy is often focused on strengthening relationships with loved ones. Adult clients with children ages 3 to 11 can benefit greatly. Clients enhance their decision making skills, assertive communication, self responsibility, empathy, self-esteem, conflict resolution skills, and self-efficacy. I would have to say that my ideal client would be the client that only needs to see me about every 6 months for like a check up. The reason I say this is because as a Mental Health provider my goal is to help all my clients achieve a good mental health status. I want them to learn coping skills and strategies to be able to handle the problems that they may face. In doing my job that would be something that we would be able to accomplish together so that they may lead a productive and full-filled life.

I think of someone who is needing to express themselves in a way that they never have expressed themselves before. Because my specialty is trauma focused therapy, I have worked with many clients who have been abused sexually, physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. Their goals are to not let their trauma consume them, control them, and define them. Many struggle with trust issues, self-harm, and self-esteem. They seek therapy for a safe space, because many times the people at home and in their lives on a daily basis do not understand or try to understand where the client is coming from, making the client feel alone.

With a background in community mental health and private practice, Joanna has worked extensively with children (ages 4-18 years) and families, adults, and couples facing various challenges. These include trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, adjustment, self-esteem, as well as stressors related to foster care, adoption, minority status, incarceration history, and gender expansiveness.
