In 1996, I founded Psychology & Counseling Associates, a community-focused mental health practice with more than a dozen highly trained mental health professionals. Dr. Wallace is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Supervisor. His clinical interest areas include trauma, sex therapy, sexual disorders, and clinical and forensic evaluation. Dr. Wallace has worked as a licensed clinician for over twenty years. He is also experienced with treating problems of anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and other adjustment issues in children, adolescents and adults. His treatment approach includes an integration of analytic and cognitive therapies that focus on resolution of problems experienced by his clients.

From the vantage point of a pastor, I saw the need for good, quality, professional therapy in people's lives. When you walk through the therapist’s door, you expect to be given the tools you need to accomplish change. Good therapy is more than “What do you want to talk about today?” You need to work with a therapist who has the right tools to dig deep and do some heavy lifting, and that is what I offer.

My ideal client is an individual looking to better themselves by dealing with situations which are preventing them from living their lives the way they truly want. Given my background, individuals between the ages of 13 - 70 would be the ideal clients, although I have worked out of this age range. I am best suited to treat issues dealing with PTSD, Peer pressure, Sleep Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Impulse Control Disorders, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Personality Disorders, and Psychosexual Disorders. I am very flexible on payment for services.

I like to think I have a unique skill set coupled with life experience that equips me to be a dynamic therapist. I served as a Marine in the military, spent 20 years working in the pathology field looking at healing the body and now work with clients from 5 years to older adult healing the mind. Therapy is difficult to navigate and can feel messy for the whole system (friends, family, work, school, and more). I value your experience and how that has shaped core beliefs. Because we have these core beliefs, doesn't make them true. Let's assign new rules to these beliefs and heal the system as a whole both in body and mind.

I am an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and my best work is in treating depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders with co-occurring addiction disorders related to trauma. I am trained in EMDR and have basic and advanced training in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to meeting clients in clinic, I also provide telehealth services. I understand that mental health disorders often present with isolation and strive to meet patients in settings that are familiar and comfortable to them.

I live and work in the River Valley. Formerly a safety engineer in Chicago, I later trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist in The Canadian Rockies. I’ve been practicing for over 14 years and provide a Christ-centered approach to therapy. I have over 8000 hours of experience with youth issues. I enjoy working with couples and families, helping people fall in love again. I have helped many people work through loss, trauma and, also trained in and advanced trauma techniques using EMDR therapy. I have seen many clients with sexual issues. I have experience working with children and adults with autism and dyslexia.
