Counseling is my passion. It is my passion because I have seen lives and families change through this powerful growth and healing medium. Many people find themselves feeling stuck and frozen in their lives and circumstances. They don't believe they have choices or options. Counseling provides clients with the opportunity to make life changes and acquire tools to navigate life in a new way. This enables them to make changes in their families, relationships, jobs and future goals.

Welcome and congratulations! You have just taken a forward step towards change! Here is a snapshot of my professional background. I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado, and I am licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. I have over a decade of experience providing therapeutic interventions and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families of varied economic and cultural backgrounds. The "human condition" knows no specific demographic.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, from a foundation of respect, collaboration, and genuineness. I offer individual and family psychotherapy and psychological assessments (including educational evaluations). Therapy is tailored specifically to each individual or family. I bring a strong clinical background and range of experiences that have allowed me to hone my skills to meet the needs of each of my patients. I work with a range of patients that may seek a deeper understanding of oneself or improved self-esteem, as well as changes in mood, behaviors, or relationships.

Dr. Nicole Wallace is a Licensed Psychologist who earned Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology. She earned her BS in Psychology and Spanish and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. Her graduate training focused on Child and Family Intervention and Assessment. Dr. Wallace completed an intensive pre-doctoral internship program in Pediatric Psychology at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She gained specialized training in Pediatric Neuropsychological assessment during a two year Post-Doctoral Fellowship program at Advanced Neurobehavioral Health of Southern California.

I am a caring and compassionate mental health clinician that offers a variety of services for those in need. I specialize in working with adults, couples and adolescents, although I do have a lot of experience working with children as well. My approach is one of information gathering to get a true understanding of the problem and then one of collaboration with the client in order to determine the best treatment or treatment options moving forward. Mental Health issues can be complicated and I am dedicated to finding what is making things so difficult and offering good ways to solve the problems.

I have provided counseling services in Denver since completing graduate school in 1999. I worked in both pediatric and adult medical settings, including hematology/oncology, emergency trauma and hospice. For 8 years, I worked at a school and community based medical clinic providing psychotherapy to all ages. I have also enjoyed private practice over the years. In each setting I work, including private practice, my therapeutic modality varies, but I always come from a strengths based/empowerment approach. I love somatic (mind/body) based work, as I am also a yoga teacher.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive space for you. Everyone seeks therapy for different reasons; I work with each client individually to identify your own goals. I believe the most critical aspect to therapy is the relationship therapist and client, I work hard to build trust and create a strong, caring connection. I enjoy working with college students, those in transition and seeking supports and who are part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community! I am strongly anti-racist in my work and acknowledge how power and privilege impact a persons life.
