As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I have particular expertise in assisting people coping with the effects of traumatic experiences and other adversities. Additionally, as a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, I know how important it is for individuals to have support during the recovery process. Sobriety is key to healing from underlying pain and suffering, and I understand the complications of trauma and substance abuse.

Eileen's passion lies in supporting women during the postpartum period and in motherhood, recognizing the profound impact it can have on their mental and emotional well-being. In addition to her work with postpartum women, Eileen also works with a diverse range of clients, including young adults, adults, and older adults who are navigating other major life changes. She recognizes that life transitions, such as the transition from college to adulthood, career changes, dating, grief and loss, phase of life transitions, aging, and generalized anxiety, can be overwhelming and disruptive.

Each client has their own unique story and my job is to adjust to what the client needs utilizing an integrated approach of evidenced based practices. I gravitate toward strength based treatment. For younger clients this tends to include a behavioral plan and parent coaching to transfer skills across environments. Individual therapy, for all ages, may include: behavior modification, social skills training, CBT or DBT pending the individuals level of cognitive functioning and identified goals. The idea is to build upon already existing strengths and promote adaptive behaviors to improve overall functioning.

I assists clients in empowering themselves by building skills, promoting insight, and gaining confidence to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

With over 25 years of social work practice experience and over 10 years as a social work educator, I consider it a privilege to be able to partner with others to identify strategies to overcome current challenges, and navigate life stressors. I have extensive experience and expansive knowledge working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and emerging professionals.
