My passion for helping others started early on and as a teenager I decided that I wanted to become a therapist so that I could make a difference in others’ lives. Today I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals of all ages from diverse backgrounds in a variety of therapeutic settings. Every individual is different, so I utilize an open-minded, eclectic approach to empower clients in finding their own path.

Accepting New Clients: Symptoms often emerge as adaptive mechanisms and solutions to address events and emotions. This is particularly applicable to survivors of trauma, encompassing physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as other experiences involving loss and grief. These symptoms can shift from being solutions to becoming the very problems clients aim to address in therapy in pursuit of relief. In addition to imparting new coping strategies designed to alleviate these symptoms, when applicable, clients are also supported in addressing the underlying issues that gave rise to the development of these symptoms.

As a psychologist, I work with individuals to help them live their lives more fully and authentically. The core of my approach is establishing and maintaining a warm, nonjudgmental, collaborative, and supportive relationship with clients. I believe it's important to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and safety where we can thoughtfully consider your experience. I'll aim to understand your difficulties and the ways in which those challenges impact your life. I believe that important relationships from the past shape how we think, feel, and behave in relation to others and ourselves in the present.

Life is unpredictable with many challenges and changes that occur to us all. Some changes are simply difficult to transition and manage. I offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental environment, to give support and guidance to my clients based on their unique experiences. By building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, I help them better understand their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors so that they find the empowerment and strength they need to cope with the challenges that face them and from a Christian perspective if requested.

Lindsay Underwood is a Licensed Psychologist in North Carolina who has been practicing since 2014. She earned her B.S. in psychology from York College in Pennsylvania before going on to earn both her Master’s and Doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Lindsay can provide an array of psychological and psychoeducational evaluations to address a variety of concerns and provide clarification on a number of presenting problems. She works with clients to help answer questions they may have about their functioning and provide recommendations to help address their concerns.

Zoe grew up in Durham, North Carolina and graduated from Western Carolina University and Smith College, where she earned her MSW. She has clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages in inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings around the country. Zoe draws on skills from various evidence-based, trauma-informed practices, including DBT and CBT, focusing holistically on strengths-based, person-centered wellness and a healthy, collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Rachael received her Master of Social Work from Appalachian State University, and she works with individuals, families, and groups of all ages. She serves a wide variety of people with mental health-related issues and conditions. She specializes in working with young children and adolescents with behavioral issues, mood issues such as oppositional defiance disorder, attention deficit disorder (ADHD), autism, anxiety, depression, and more.

This sparked my desire to come alongside others and to help them develop a healthy view of themselves and positive attitudes that promote striving toward one's goals and cultivating healthy relationships.

As a clinician I use a person centered approach with techniques and modalities from CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. In session we will discuss matters of the heart, mind and body in an effort to work towards living a congruent life. No matter what stage of life you are in, or what age you are, I am open to hearing you and walking with you through your therapeutic process.

Hello! I am a psychologist licensed in North Carolina. Please note that I provide only psychological testing services to children, adolescents, and adults for a wide variety of challenges, and do NOT provide psychotherapy.

Robert obtained his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, and also holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree from East Carolina University. Robert has many years' experience working within therapeutic foster care, specifically the Intensive Alternative Family Treatment level of care. Robert sees children/adolescents and adults individually as well as families and groups. Robert has interest in working with a wide array of behavioral and mental health issues such as trauma, anxiety, personality disorders and depression.
