I am a Resident in Counseling focused on working with children, adolescents and adults. I believe that healing through life's stressors is not a straight path, and my role as your therapist is to guide you through those difficult times. My outlook for your process is that this is a positive healing journey, where you are heard and understood. My passion for working with Veterans stems from my unique perspective as a Military spouse for over ten years.

I am an LCSW, and I have been working for over 30 years with Adults, children and families who have issues with trauma, anxiety, anger management, couples counseling, addictions, ADHD treatment and assessments and issues related to breaking up families. I am a certified Anger Management Specialist, I'm trained in neurofeedback and EMDR. I am a Certified Clinical ADHD, Anxiety and Trauma Treatment Provider through PESI. I have worked with children, men, women, and couples, trying to strengthen themselves and their families. In all cases, I help and try to achieve their maximum potential through helping the mind, body and spirit.

The Obsidian Therapy Group specializes in serving children, adults and families who either are on Medicaid, are ineligible for state-funded services, or do not have adequate insurance coverage or the financial resources to pay for counseling through the private sector. We especially welcome multicultural populations and specialize in concerns of people of color. Our counseling is oriented toward insight and behavioral change. Our goal is to help clients experience more peace of mind, improve relationships and self-esteem, and find positive approaches and solutions to dealing with life and mental health challenges.

I am a Richmond-based licensed professional counselor with more than 20-years of experience working with individuals and families in community mental health settings and the military. As a proud military retiree, I have a passion for military members and understand their unique culture and stressors. I have worked extensively with individuals with developmental disabilities and physical disabilities. I am passionate about helping people work through challenging life issues that have been impacted by trauma, marginalization, and lack of autonomy.

Veteran-owned and operated, we seek to help Veterans, First Responders, their Families, and children impacted by traumatic events. We provide specialized individual and group therapy, and provide therapy for a wide range of children, adolescent, and adult clients. We welcome those who are struggling with life issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, coping, gender identity, mood disorders, relationship issues, sexuality, and addictions. I aim to provide an open and safe environment to address various issues that may arise in one’s life. My specialty population is couples and families, as I have personally experienced the effects of coming from a broken home, as well as surviving a chaotic family environment. I have 17 years of experience working with children and over 12 years of experience working with adults who are severely mentally ill and dually diagnosed. I find joy in helping others navigate through the roller coaster ride, and detours that life sometimes throws at us.
