I am a seasoned psychotherapist with many years of experience working with a diverse clientele. I believe that growth occurs in therapy not just from insight, but from the willingness to tolerate the discomfort of the unknown and experiment with new ways of being in and out of sessions. I strive to be an engaged and active partner in this work. I also do executive coaching for people in tech, finance and media-related fields. Although psychological factors are never entirely left out of this work, the focus is on optimizing professional goals.
I am particularly interested in the intersections of culture and psychoanalytic thinking in clinical work. My treatment approach often incorporates exploration of the internalized cultural forces that influence and create one's subjectivity - including race, gender, sexuality, class, privilege, experiences of marginalization and toxic concepts of what is considered "normal."
Other particular clinical interests and specialities include chronic or atypical depression, creativity and creative blocks and issues around sex and sexuality. I also have much experience working with trans and gender expansive people, as well as the entire queer spectrum of sexual and identity expression.
