I work with adults, children and teens.
I believe everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. When we know better, we do better. I see my job as walking with client's through their personal healing journey as they learn new truths and new skills to improve their relationships with others and themselves. I am honored by the trust clients put in me to witness and assist in their healing. My ideal client is the one who is willing to look at their behaviors, patterns and face difficult truths about themselves in order to find a better way to thrive.

Whether you are concerned about your own mental health, your relationships, or the wellbeing of your child, I can help.
We all have strengths and skills. Sometimes we have tried everything and are out of ideas. If we knew a better way, we would use it! Sometimes we face challenges we could not anticipate or prepare for. The stress we deal with, the depression or anxiety we feel, can interfere with our relationships or functioning and become an obstacle to the life we want. Understanding how our past shapes our present can help us create a more hopeful, satisfying future. If your challenges have brought you to the point where you are ready for additional support, I’d like to help you increase your tool box and reconnect with your own resilience.

Our specialized services cater to various populations, including children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families.
As human beings, we all have an innate desire to give and receive love, as well as to feel a sense of belonging. When these basic needs are not met, we can experience a feeling of being lost and disconnected from the world around us. However, we have the power to overcome these challenges. By acknowledging that we are not alone in our struggles and by taking conscious steps towards leading an authentic and fulfilling life, we can restore our sense of purpose and inner peace. No matter how difficult our circumstances may seem, there is always hope for a brighter tomorrow.

I specialize in helping parents and caregivers of children who have experienced trauma or who live with special abilities, including from foster and adoptive care. Many of the parents I work with have experienced parental burnout, secondary trauma from supporting their children, or trauma from their own childhood which is impacting their ability to parent. I work with parents to heal their own trauma wounds, increasing their capacity to connect with their children, and parent more from a place of love. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR (and EMDR child certified).

You might not feel it now, but you (or your child) possess the strength to overcome your challenges and reclaim your freedom.
So many of us are trapped by our own fears, insecurities, and doubts, facing challenges like OCD, anxiety, hair pulling, skin picking, ADHD, or emotional outbursts. These issues might manifest as overwhelming sadness, fear in social interactions, or constant anxiety from intrusive thoughts, and can lead to avoidance of social situations, struggles with focus at work, difficulty in personal relationships, and a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. These fears might be stealing your laughter, freedom, and connection with others. In therapy I can help you or your child navigate these complex experiences.

I have worked in many different settings that have allowed me to gain experience with child and parent issues, issues related to trauma, domestic violence, individuals in crisis, and behavioral issues.
It is my belief that all people deserve to be embraced as the unique individual that they are. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where each person can explore this, encourage a sense of empowerment, and most of all, create a space of safety and trust. I want to help you learn more about yourself as an individual and reshape beliefs that no longer align with you and your goals. As we begin the journey of healing together, I look forward to learning more about you, the things that are most important to you, and the goals that you have for your future.

Child Therapists
Child psychologists in Utah provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time (likely in fewer than six sessions), the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Utah build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
