For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a counselor. I have no idea why, but even as an adolescent, I was drawn to people and trying to help figure out what makes them tick. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the counseling experience. In that relationship, it’s very important for me to hold the space for the client. Both client and counselor need to feel that the environment is a safe space, allowing the therapeutic process to take place. That starts at the beginning, where it’s key that the client, whether new or established, feels that trust and can begin opening up.

In my decade long work with Adolescents, I focus on creating a strong therapeutic alliance between myself and the client. So often, Adolescents feel that no one hears them. They have a unique take on life, and it is often hard for the adults in their lives to understand that perspective.

Health and wellness are very important in my own life, but also in my counseling practice. I strongly believe that so much of our physical well-being directly effects our mental well-being as well.
