Building relationships between parents and children in order to address conflict is of particular interest to me.
Do you sense your life has become unmanageable? Do you feel there are roadblocks in your relationships? The journey of life can become bumpy. I offer a safe place to walk alongside you while facing distress, anxiety, heartbreak, or other disappointments life can bring. I will help to guide you toward healthier relationships. I address parental relationships with children, couples relationships (both premarital and couples counseling). I also work with individuals in gaining insight into interpersonal conflicts. I work with parents and children struggling with finding the joy in raising kids including families facing the challenge of disabilities.

I have an integrative approach to my personal practice that includes yoga, meditation/mindfulness, child centered play therapy, expressive arts, Synergetic Play therapy, CBT, and various trauma modalities across the lifespan.
NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUPERVISION CLIENTS------------All therapists and social workers have moments in this field where we need someone to debrief an experience with. Sometimes we just need someone to hold space for our experiences and bare witness to the challenges and heartbreak this profession often brings. No matter what stage you are at in your career, just starting out or 15 years in, a good supervisor can feel like a lifeline. I specialize in offering supervision to CSWAs, LPC-I and licensed professionals seeking supervision in the state of Oregon.

Parenting a young child is challenging, but it is so much more difficult when your child is oppositional, defiant, and/or aggressive. Many parents blame themselves, feel isolated, and are unsure of what to do. You can be the solution, though! Through a unique approach called Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), I coach parents and guardians in developing the necessary tools for promoting a healthy relationship with their children based on mutual love and respect. In return, children feel more secure and are less interested in testing boundaries. PCIT has strong scientific support and is highly effective in person or online!

While working with children and adolescents is one of my specializations, I am also passionate about working with adults who are ready to embark on the therapeutic journey of self-exploration and growth.
Life is full of ups, downs, and all the plateaus in between. I believe my role as a counselor is to walk alongside you during the moments of pain and self-doubt, as well as the moments of celebration and joy. You are the expert of your own life experience, but we can all use a little extra support from time to time...and that is where I come in. As a multiculturally competent counselor, I value building relationships with clients from all walks of life. My hope is to create a space of safety and warmth where you can express yourself and be who you truly are.

As a therapist I offer a warm, compassionate, and accepting presence and deeply respect every individual who comes to me for help and support. I have been providing therapeutic services to children birth to 10 years, families, and adults for over 20 years. I've learned the importance of taking into consideration all aspects of each person's life as we explore the issues that brought you to seek help at this time.

My engagement style is flexible and centers your or your child's needs.
I provide psychotherapy to children, teens, and emergent adults using an integrative relational or play-centered approach. I specialize in working young people who are curious about themselves but may feel adrift, alienated, misunderstood, or just tired and angry. For most of us, it makes sense to feel weary, outraged, anxious, or demoralized right now. It does not have to make sense to carry the weight of it alone.

Technically, I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT). Relationally, I am an empathetic listener and collaborator. I listen and then collaborate with you to discover the opportunities for progress and growth. I believe immediate change IS possible albeit in small steps. Change brings improvement. Improvement brings more change and the cycle continues. Breaking out of the old dead-end cycle and entering a cycle of growth and change is what I am all about.

Child Therapists
Child psychologists in Oregon provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time (likely in fewer than six sessions), the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Oregon build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
