Hi there, I’m Ms. Jen! I love to partner with families like yours to help children who may be struggling with issues commonly associated with ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Differences, PANS/PANDAS, mood disorders, and trauma. Parents, caregivers, and siblings are part of the therapeutic team and are supported and educated on how to go from chaos to connection using my playful, integrative approach. Using this approach takes some of the heaviness that can come from counseling away and build a sense of safety and connection within the team.

I am a masters level licensed professional clinical counselor and a board certified art therapist. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and group settings. I believe I am most effective when meeting each individual where they are at the current time, whether that be typical adolescent developmental growth, teenage to young adult navigation of life's expectations, or adult contemplation. I use complimentary therapy approaches in helping individuals utilize their strengths to manage obstacles in their life. I am currently taking new clients and is available for appointments immediately.

Having worked in an inpatient behavioral health setting for 15 years, I have encountered a variety of mental health diagnoses which has provided me with an abundance of experience to offer my clients. Although I have worked with all demographic, I specifically enjoy working with older children and adolescents.

I have worked extensively with special needs, children, adolescents, teens and their families, helping to raise up the individuals and the family team.
Life has changed for an uncertain period of time. Finding a safe space to really be heard, so we can process, heal and grow is helpful during this difficult time. Feeling isolated, depressed, anxious or unable to face daily challenges is normal, but finding ways to handle the stress or difficult feelings when they become overwhelming can make life easier and bring about more success and happiness in your. Sometimes it's stress within a relationship (family, dating, marriage, parenting) that can really throw us off our game. Sometimes work is overwhelming. Sometimes everything seems to get us down.

I offer individual counseling for children ages 6-16, with a focus on managing anxiety, depression, ADHD and anger.
Life is full of experiences that shape us in a variety of ways. It is easy to feel overwhelmed and consumed by the challenges and constant changes thrown our way. My passion is for helping children and families learn to appreciate their inner strengths and grow in confidence to face adversity head on. I believe that learning to express, manage and process emotions appropriately is a vital life skill, one that requires teaching. If you find your child has difficulty expressing or managing "big emotions", is often anxious or depressed, struggles with social skills or simply needs an unbiased ear to listen to, allow me to help.

During sessions, your child interacts with a therapist that fits his or her needs, learning styles, and preferences.
We believe therapy should be engaging, dynamic, and highly reinforcing. We use only the most effective, evidence-based strategies and methodologies through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. We train our staff to build rapport because we know this is an investment that will yield major benefits throughout the course of a therapeutic relationship. Our team will come alongside your family and demonstrate the level of compassion and programming precision involved in high-quality ABA services. We could not be more thrilled to facilitate the learning process with our clients.

Child Therapists
Child psychologists in Ohio provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time (likely in fewer than six sessions), the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Ohio build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
