Dr. Beverly Watts Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Beverly earned her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Georgia, her Master’s in counseling from Columbus State University, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University-Sarasota.

Perimeter Therapy Associates provides psychological services for children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families experiencing life transitions, relationship difficulties, depression, post partum depression, anxiety, grief, parenting concerns and other mental health issues. Our approach to therapy is tailored to the unique needs of each client, facilitating positive change in a warm and caring environment. We assist clients in making fundamental changes in the way they think and act thereby improving their ability to solve problems, cope and communicate effectively. We also provide supervision for LAPC's working toward LPC licensure.

Life transitions are challenging whether it is navigating high school, adjusting to a child growing up, or realizing you are not where you expected at this point in life. My experience has been with people who have turned to alcohol, drugs, food, sex, or self-injury to cope with various life events. Others have shut down in the form of depression or paralyzing anxiety. Essentially the ways of handling life’s stressors are no longer effective, and in these moments we need help. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a range of problems from anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, impulse control, family/sibling relational issues, parent-child relational and attachment issues, co-parenting, grief and loss, adoption issues, ADHD, substance abuse and major life transitions. I believe in taking a non-directive, client-centered approach, and creating a warm and non-judgmental space where I can help my clients to uncover what is keeping them from moving forward so they can lead happier and healthier lives.

Gretchen brings warmth, compassion, and humor into the therapy space with a firm belief in the inherent worth of every human being. She has over 13 years’ experience in the field of clinical social work and currently works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Gretchen utilizes a collaborative, culturally affirming approach with clients. Her primary specialty is in trauma and attachment, including specialized training in EMDR. She also possesses extensive experience with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, family/relationship distress, perfectionism, and major life transitions.

I believe that authenticity, balance and connection are available to all of us, regardless of past pain or current stuckness. I am guided by the motto “You have to feel it to heal it”, and provide a safe and compassionate space in which individuals and families are invited to process pain, anger, loss, and fear, integrate those experiences and move forward. As a former teacher, child therapist and parent, I understand the importance of supporting caregivers to improve the health of the entire system.
