Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina. I've spent several years working as a Licensed Nurse and Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with all ages; children, teens and adults, with symptoms of trauma, worry, depression, mood disorders, impulsivity, ADHD, social anxiety, isolation. I am Nationally Certified in providing Trauma Therapy, DBT Borderline Personality. We have a voice and when life is hard, we sometimes don't always feel we can speak up. In therapy we will find your voice and hopefully it feels a lot easier to talk about the things going on in your life in a safe space, never with judgement.

Teens often struggle with anger and substance use, often co-occurring. There is a higher risk of negative consequences; e.g. physical aggression, self-harm, difficult relationships, low commitment to school performance, and even criminal justice involvement. In Anger Management Group we learn about relaxation training, which targets emotional and physiological components of anger. We provide Cognitive interventions which target cognitive processes such as building awareness of cues and triggers, hostile appraisals and attributions, maladaptive beliefs, and inflammatory thinking. This group will help to improve communication skills with interventions meant to target strengthening assertiveness and know how to resolve conflict through appraisal and negotiation.

Excessive exposure to social media can actually change the brain. Desire to constantly seek pleasure, leading to obsessive, compulsive and addictive behaviors. Parent/child conflict, poor academic commitment, harmful bullying, aggression, being a victim of online harassment, exploitation, anxiety, depression, running away, suicide, breaking laws and law enforcement intervention, and even homicide, can be some of the negative impacts.
