Chicago Clinical Associates is a psychotherapy practice dedicated to engaging and nurturing the holistic growth of individuals and couples in the Chicagoland community. We have labored collectively through decades of training and experience in the art, science, and philosophy of psychosocial care and healing. We specialize in treating a broad spectrum of emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns, and employ a range of treatment modalities. We make it a priority – from the initial contact forward – to respect the humanity of our clients through an engaged, informed, compassionate, and collaborative professional relationship.

I believe in the fundamental worth and unique strengths of every individual, and that an attention to these attributes is the bedrock of any helping relationship. I also believe that much of the emotional and relational struggles we suffer in life are born in experiences of pain through which we labored to survive, and that these laborings often limit us or become self-defeating later in life. The therapeutic relationship then becomes a space of uncovering, of pursuing self-knowledge, and of re-experiencing or re-learning authentic relationship through which healing, growth, and a sense of thriving can occur.

I work with individuals who are not only seeking relief, but understanding and meaning. Oftentimes, symptom relief (such as lowering a score on an anxiety questionnaire) alone can still leave us feeling lost and confused. I specialize in working with trauma and persistent patterns of behavior that feel automatic, but also distressing. These automatic ways of relating to people and the world have often served an important purpose earlier in life, however, later in life, they may become obsolete and tend to do more harm than good. I work primarily with young professionals, college/graduate students, and adolescents.

Life can be stressful and overwhelming, especially during transitions or hardship, and feelings of anxiety, depression, and isolation can arise. Non-judgmental, open-minded conversations in a trusting relationship can help. Connecting with someone who relates to your perspectives can relieve stress and support lasting, meaningful change. Therapy offers a supportive space to help reduce stress, strengthen relationships, address unhelpful habits, and bring structure to daily life.

Grief, loss, and change challenge us to renegotiate – in our bodies, in our thoughts – earlier and similar transformations in our lives, stirring up difficult emotions, thoughts, images, and bodily experiences. In our work together, I will attend with integrity to whatever expressions of body, mind, and heart that arise. In this work that requires patience of us both, I will help you to discover and connect the elements of your own unconscious, history, desires, associations, leading to a genuine – even transformative – development of your own psychological, spiritual, and embodied personal narrative.

My clinical work focuses on fostering strength and resiliency throughout peoples life. My immigration story as a psychologist involves overcoming many adversities, which has only fueled my passion for helping others. I am not one to shy away from adversity or back down from obstacles, and I work diligently and with credence, being prepared to be unprepared. My multicultural awareness informs my therapeutic approach in terms of building connections. My unique clinical attribute is undoubtedly my passion, intrinsic motivation and my ability to help make any client feel comfortable in the therapeutic environment.

I work well with those interested in exploring the puzzling and often painful behaviors, thoughts, and feelings which bring them to therapy. I attend to dreams, slips of the tongue, and unintended actions to facilitate the articulation in speech of what is otherwise repeated and encoded in symptoms. Patients find that this experience often opens into unexpected affective dimensions as treatment progresses.

You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others. Perhaps you’re navigating grief, trauma, relational challenges, or questions of identity and meaning. You may long for a space to slow down, feel seen, and explore what’s beneath the surface. My clients often seek greater clarity, emotional freedom, and depth, not just symptom relief, but real understanding. I bring a culturally attuned and spiritually sensitive lens to therapy, honoring the complexity of each person’s story and background. If you're drawn to therapy as a space to grow, reflect, and reconnect, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

You might find yourself thinking about your experiences, recognizing patterns in how you relate, react, or hold yourself, yet despite this awareness still feel stuck or unfulfilled. You may be feeling disconnected in your relationships and day-to-day life while longing for something more genuine or meaningful but understanding how to make such changes seems ambiguous or out of reach. These experiences are in part about the deeper patterns that shape us that we often struggle to know how to access on our own.

Our past can impact how we navigate the present. In my opinion, understanding our experiences can lead to healing and transformation. My priority is creating an open and safe space where you can freely explore those vulnerabilities. This is a space where you can vent, laugh, and make greater meaning out of your experiences. I use a strength-based approach to empower you to be your most authentic self. This approach can include times of humor and times when I challenge you. I believe the therapeutic relationship is integral to exploring uncomfortable emotions and relationship dynamics.
