One of my favorite things to do is understand how people work. This drives my treatment approach to include deep exploration of symptoms to get to the root of maladaptive patterns. I believe long term change stems from understanding and processing how one’s past is currently influencing one’s present. This includes a focus on using self-reflection and self-examination to explore and change the psychological root of emotional distress.
My clinical experience includes conducting therapy and assessment in a variety of settings such as private practice, community health center, day hospital, and inpatient units. Currently, I see individuals aged 18 and older for therapy. I specialize in personality disorders, and I especially enjoy working with schizoid and borderline personality structures.
Through authenticity, empathy, and using the therapeutic relationship as a healing/corrective experience, I join clients in their journey toward health. I utilize psychodynamic interventions but use other modalities as well to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs.
