About
If your relationship feels stuck, I will help you identify & change detrimental patterns before you feel hopeless. We'll build on your strengths. Afraid of replicating your parents' marriage? We'll explore your fears, improve communication, & work toward more effective solutions. Plan to move in together? Get married? Change jobs? Have a baby? I can help you both prepare now for the typical (& your unique) stressors that come with those changes instead of feeling blindsided by them & trying to pick up the broken pieces later. Communication, intimacy, & sexual satisfaction can all be strengthened with some intention & time.
I work with individuals too! Carve out some time in your week -- just for you -- to feel validated & heard. Maybe you have clearly-defined goals, maybe you want to learn more about yourself, or maybe you don't want to burden your friends/family with what's rattling around in your head. There will be some homework sometimes. I can collaborate with doctors.
My style is a little more on the directive side. I'm casual - I'll wear flannel & drop curse words. I use a lot of metaphors & TV references. I am a nerd & connect well with other geek-identified people. I believe that fandoms and hobbies can be as much a part of our identity as our careers or relationships. I run Dungeons & Dragons therapy groups.

Therapeutic Dungeons & Dragons
Dungeons & Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game using roleplaying and dice - think improv theater where the players are both the actors and audience. A group of adventurers sets out on quests while learning about themselves along the way. With a therapist as the Dungeon Master, players can also gain several social skills, such as: empathy, frustration tolerance, and creative problem solving. Most importantly, players gain a sense of community and connection that can build resilience against stress, trauma, and long-term mental health symptoms. No experience required. Limit 4-6 kids per group.
