Cheryl L Mansell's Groups
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Comprehensive DBT is four modes of treatment - individual therapy, group therapy, phone coaching and consultation team. This group is where therapist and the client balance the traditional change strategies with acceptance and mindfulness. Therapist helps their clients move away from all-or-nothing behavior into more balanced behavior. Balance is the hallmark in DBT with the overarching goal being dialectical synthesis. DBT focuses on getting clients to come to a synthesis in their lives. Therapists help clients to validate themselves and learn new skills that will lessen their suffering and “build a life worth living”.
