How are you today? Really, how are you? Browsing these pages can be overwhelming – the unfamiliar words, the multitude of smiling faces. Those smiles can seem insulting in the face of overwhelming depression. Who do you pick? It’s okay to have questions and doubts; it’s okay to pick someone and change your mind once you meet them. My name is Cherise (she/her) and I am an LPC-Associate. This means that I have the education and experience to have a provisional license to counsel, but must do so under supervision. You not only have a qualified therapist, you also have a second, more experienced therapist behind the scenes.
My areas of focus are trauma, depression, PTSD, anxiety, spiritual abuse, shame, LGBTQIA+ issues, and self-esteem. I integrate post-modern, person-centered, feminist, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies into my approach. I can explain more about these when we meet, if you are interested.
My goal is to create a warm and inviting presence, where you feel safe enough to be able to unpack all of the things that seem to get in your way. With my training and skills and your expertise on you, we will work together to figure out how your particular strengths and abilities can help you navigate through life with greater compassion for yourself.

DBT Skills Group
In-person, New Braunfels, TX, pay what you can ($5-20). Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) covers mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance skills. It is helpful for those who need assistance with coping, emotional distress, relationship issues, impulsivity, and issues such as depression, anxiety, or BPD. Sundays beginning January 7, 2024.
